What exactly is kttouk?
kttouk is a personal capture platform — a desktop app for instantly capturing tasks, notes, screenshots, voice memos, clipboard text and bookmarks. AI then organizes everything for you. It's not a todo app first; it's a place to capture anything without friction.
Is kttouk free?
Yes — kttouk is free forever for individuals, with no account required. Your data lives in a local, encrypted database you fully own. Cloud sync, calendar sync and team workspaces are part of the paid plans — see Pricing.
Which platforms are supported?
A Windows desktop app today, with a native macOS build coming soon. Installers are published to GitHub Releases, and downloads on this site are pulled live from the official release.
Does it work offline?
Completely. Your data lives in a local, encrypted database on your device. Everything — capture, search, notes, tasks and reminders — works with no internet connection at all.
How does the AI work, and is my data private?
AI handles categorization, tagging, summarization and answering questions grounded in your own data. With Ollama you can run everything fully locally — your content never leaves your machine. Cloud providers like OpenAI, Gemini and Claude are opt-in, and only then do you choose what to send.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. The local database is encrypted with SQLCipher. There's no account, no telemetry and no cloud storage unless you opt into sync — so your notes, tasks and bookmarks stay yours.
Is kttouk available in Khmer?
Yes. Khmer is a first-class language in kttouk — the entire interface, dates, and Khmer numerals are fully supported, alongside complete English.
Can I sync between devices?
Yes, optionally. kttouk includes a sync engine and an optional FastAPI backend you can self-host, plus CalDAV calendar sync for reminders. Syncing is always opt-in — by default everything stays on your device.
Is kttouk open source?
No — kttouk is proprietary commercial software, like most consumer apps. Your data is still yours: it stays in a local encrypted database, works fully offline, and you can export or delete everything at any time.
