The capture bar

Tasks, notes, bookmarks and ideas — the smart input line understands them all.

One input, every type

The capture bar accepts a single line of text and figures out what you mean:

  • !p1 through !p4 — set priority.
  • #tag — attach a label (multiple allowed).
  • @project — assign to a list.
  • +tomorrow, +next friday — natural-language due dates.
  • every day, every week, every month, every weekday — repeat intervals.
  • 30m, 2h, 1d — how long the task should take.

These tokens are stripped from the text and become real structured fields. Typing #, @, ! or + opens live suggestions under the input. The same smart input works in the capture popup, the new-task row on every list, and the floating panel.

Smart dates

Dates accept plain language: +today, +in 3 days, +next week. The calendar picker is locale-aware, works in both English and Khmer, and shows Khmer numerals when the language is Khmer. The quick-pick row offers Today, Tomorrow and Next week.

Types of captures

  • Task — goes to your task list with the priority, tags, list and dates you typed.
  • Note — a rich note you refine later in the editor.
  • Bookmark — a link with its title, icon and tags. Saving the same link twice is blocked, and you are offered the existing one instead.
  • Idea — a lightweight capture for the Inbox.

Voice and screenshot capture are separate features that depend on your plan.

Capture from anywhere

  • Ctrl+Space opens the capture popup inside kttouk.
  • Opt-in global hotkeys turn whatever you copied into a bookmark, task or note from any app — see Keyboard shortcuts.
  • kttouk never watches your clipboard in the background; it only reads it when you press a capture hotkey.

Every capture keeps the raw text you typed — nothing is lost.
